Tattoo Aftercare

DSCF8105.JPG

Proper aftercare is essential for healing your tattoo and maintaining its quality. Please follow these instructions carefully.

First 24 Hours
• Keep the bandage or wrap on for the amount of time advised by your artist (typically 2–6 hours, or as instructed).
• After removing the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free, antibacterial soap.
• Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub.
• Apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare ointment or fragrance-free moisturizer.
• Do not re-bandage unless specifically instructed.

Days 2–14 (Healing Period)
• Wash the tattoo 2–3 times daily using clean hands and mild, fragrance-free soap.
• Apply a light layer of fragrance-free moisturizer after each wash.
• The tattoo may scab, peel, or itch—do not pick, scratch, or peel.
• Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing to avoid friction.
• Avoid soaking the tattoo (no baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, oceans, or lakes).

What to Avoid
• Direct sunlight and tanning beds.
• Excessive sweating or strenuous workouts during early healing.
• Petroleum-based products, alcohol, or heavily scented lotions.
• Letting others touch your healing tattoo.

Long-Term Care
• Once healed, protect your tattoo with broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to prevent fading.
• Keep skin moisturized to maintain vibrancy.

Signs of Infection
Contact a medical professional if you experience:
• Increasing redness, swelling, or heat
• Thick yellow/green discharge
• Fever or excessive pain
